Open Question: CentOS VPS command line to start CS Source server?
Basically I have a CS Source server on my CentOS VPS in the directory of /home/wealthy/sexybitch/orangebox
When starting my server I always run the following command to start my server...
cd /home/wealthy/sexybitch/orangebox && ./srcds_run -console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 -maxplayers 32 -port 27015 -insecure -autoupdate
The only problem is, if I close my PuTTY connection which I use for SSH, my server will turn off. Obviously the reason for this is because I have entered -console in my start command line.
I've also tried removing the -console bit and adding > srcds.log 2>&1 &, so the command line looks like this:
./srcds_run -game cstrike +map de_dust2 -maxplayers 32 -port 27015 -insecure -autoupdate > srcds.log 2>&1 &
The only problem with this is, it obviously doesn't show me the console it saves it to a file so my issue should be fixed, but when I close PuTTY it STILL turns the server off :/
Any idea(s) as to why?

I have a Seagate Freeagent external hardrive that has two partitions: mac (time machine) and NTFS
the mac partition works great but my Mac doesnt recognize the NTFS partition.

NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or its a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware in the first case run chkdsk /f on windows
then reboot into windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very important! if the device is a SoftRAID/fakeRAID then first activate it and mount a different below the /dev/mapper/directory, please look the 'dmraid' documentation for more details

I got a theme from http://art.gnome.org/ for Pidgin, and I got the GTK shit, but I can't receive it to work. People talk about C:/Common Files/GTK/2.0 and whatnot, but I don't fucking have that fucking directory. I never had it. I never got it. What the fuck do I do to receive a theme. TELL ME.
I'm not waiting even an hour for this. I'm not using Pidgin until I receive a freaking theme on it, and I'm not going to use some browser based client in the meantime. Trillian's not an option since it wouldn't let me log onto MSN.

Open Question: problem with folder guard pro?
I am using folder guard pro and there is a problem.
I tried to put a password on some folders and even some drives in my pc.
When you open "My Computer" and double click on the steer the password box will appear. Same thing happens for any folder I secured. It works good. But when you write that folder or steer address in the explorer "address bar" it will go to that directory without requesting any password.
What should I do?
I have reinstalled the application many times. I used different versions but same problem occurs.

Open Question: Arma 2 Campaign mods and OA integration?
Recently I've been nice of mass-downloading mods for Arma 2, as well as installing the new Operation Arrowhead standalone expansion. I have three questions:
1 (about A2 mods): I am using the mod manager/game launcher method (using the modfolders in the game's install directory). From what I have run so far, everything (new maps for editor, units, etc.) works fine, aside from new Campaigns. They just won't appear in the Singleplayer campaign selection (haven't checked multi yet but I don't use MP due to messed up WiFi card). My question is why can't I use my downloaded Campaigns and how do I fix this?
2. (OA mods): Can I just copy mods from my Arma 2 installation into my Op Arrowhead folder, make a copy of the Arma Launcher and set it to OA, and run like that? I also noticed that another A2 Launcher supports OA. Will that launch my mods for both?
3. (OA/A2 Content integration): I have heard that you should be able to integrate Arma 2 content into Op Arrowhead, but I don't look any option or info to do this. How can I integrate that content?
If it matters for any questions, my Arma 2/OA installs are NOT in the Program Files. My Arma installs, as well as many other games logically, are in C/Games (so it's "C/Games/Bohemia/Arma 2" with OA being the same but "/Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead")

To host my eBay pictures, for years I've uploaded them to a file on my personal web page, hosted remotely. To write my ad, every I had to do was bring up the directory online in Explorer, and drag and drop the images to Front Page, or Publisher, or whatever. Now, I can't drag and drop any of the files, even the ones which worked before. I receive a circle with a slash in it. It happens on both my computers. Is it an Internet Explorer problem? Open Question: How to pack/create a Linux install ISO? (on disc of course)?
hello peeps. let me first state that yes, I am new to linux, relatively new. I went to a website called linuxfromscratch.com to try and build my possess linux. easy enough, put in a new hd/ssd/usb create a user and the first directory and start unpacking and installing. They do have a tutorial for creating a disc, but it doesn't make a lick of sense, and its NOT an install iso. At least, not one you can put into a blank computer and boot from. Their tutorial REQUIRES to have a pre-existing linux OS. This defeats the purpose of "Install ISO." So my question is fairly easy and obvious: Where Can I download/view source code for a proper "boot.iso" a "boot.img" and proper scripts for the makeInstall. I was capable of finding a "SYSLINUX" package which contains the necessary binaries which are needed for making the INSTALL disc. Instinct tells me I need to view the source code of these binaries, and create a special boot script that tells the syslinux to start unpacking/installing the tarballs/tar.CHUNKs that are located on the disc. But i don't know for sure, or if I'm even close. I can tell you this has left me quite frantic. Thanks in advance to those who will provide a reasonable answer.
P.S. I have asked this question in a few places. It seems that some pecker-head always has to give a response that doesn't answer the question. If you don't know the answer, or if you're not going to actually answer the question(s), then do NOT answer. If you think you have a good place to start but aren't sure, that will still help. Remember I have already checked linuxfromscratch.com, they REQUIRE A PRE-EXISTING LINUX INSTALLATION, other webites allow one to customize a distro, but do not provide the tools/sources (i need the sources more btw) for creating the INSTALL DISC. Again, thank you to every for those who at least provide an answer using half of your brain. (Of course, like I'm one who should talk ;P) Oh yeah, This question was posted with a severe time limit, I know I can't force an answer out of any one, but if I have to wait, I'll have to do every of this from winblows... and minGW/CYGWIN suck. Open Question: prevent files from being auto-deleted by certain programs?
when i use EAC (audio ripper) or Blader (downloader), if there is already a file of the same name in my chosen output directory, it is replaced with the new one.. now i know every i have to do is rename the file.. but i don't always remember to do that, and have lost valuable data as a result.
Is there any way to maybe put a command in the folder path to 'always create new folder' or 'never over-write existing files. maybe there's a way to have duplicate names numbered, like mozilla does when it downloads duplicate files. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello... A few things first: I'm 14 years old... I have never taken computer classes - I tutor myself everything by using google :P... But I have good experience... I can follow instructions you give me.
This is a weird issue that needs to receive fixed. We have 2 accounts on our computer. We have Internet Explorer and Firefox installed. Internet explorer works perfectly on my account but on my moms account - when she tries to go to any website it says:

On my account when I open firefox I receive this message before it opens:

I have around 120 gig free space and my antivirus is Eset Smart Security... I'm pretty sure I have no viruses as I scan with eset and malwarebytes. The problem with IE may have arrive from malware doing something to the registry? I use Ccleaner and Registry mechanic to clean registry issues.

Resolved Question: Libraries/Directory Structures in Windows 7?
I am brand new to Windows 7 (this is my fourth day) and I am going through the typical anger/frustration/acceptance/learning curve that I've arrive to expect anytime Microsoft "upgrades" their OS or Office products.
First, can someone help me understand what these "libraries" are every about. I've read that they are "virtual" directories that tug files in from different directories. Say what? That makes no sense to a mechanical engineer. Can I delete them and not even have to look them without compromising anything (other than the focus group's apparent desire to have a 'virtual directory'...go figure)?
Second, I've tried using OneNote. When I opened it, a neat set of instructions opened with it. I was playing around with it, closed the application and was going to reopen it, but I can't seem to find the original file. One reason I can't, apparently, is because the way you access directories in XP seems to have been completely done away with. How does one navigate through this mess of libraries and virtual directories to an ACTUAL DIRECTORY to find a file? Sounds simple...but for a long-time XP user, it is anything BUT that.
Finally, I was called a "troll" a couple of days ago because my first post on this subject was, as this one is, laced with frustration. I don't even know what a 'troll' is. If it's an insult...oh well. If it means I'm misrepresenting my situation with some ulterior motive in mind, I can assure you that is not the case. I simply receive annoyed when Microsoft forces its so-called "productivity improvements" upon us when those "improvements" completely cease productivity for several weeks while we every wade through the new "intuitive" way of doing things

I am working on a new restaurant directory script and I can't seem to receive the count's right when doing a proximity search, the sql query is displayed on the page, but as you can look the values next to the cuisines are not accurate, it's not taking into account the 20km distance that is set... how can I modify the query to receive the proper values without overloading the mysql server. (trying to avoid subqueries)

Open Question: Google chrome - Chrome.exe corrupt file problem?

The file or directory C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator.Your-4DACD0EA75\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\UserData\chrome_shutdown_ms.txt is corrupt and unreadable. Please run th chkdsk utility.

Open Question: I could have got into a big trouble. Tell me what to do.?
I am a college senior and met this girl at the gym. She is extremely attractive and has been eying on me but I have not been speaking to her because I am currently preparing for MCAT exam which is going to be in 40 days.
But today, she was displaying a unhappy face, so I felt bad and decided to talk to her. She extremely delighted that I was talking to her and was extremely shy. She told me that she is a sophomore in college and wants to go to optometry school. She told me that her brother needs a medical research position and asked me to receive him one.
I asked him what year he is and he told me that he is a sophomore. I sensed that something is odd here. Regardless I gave him my number, and he gave me his email. Then I sent him the directory of medical profs, so he could send emails to ask for research position.
So, I was just curious about this girl, so I found her bro's fb profile and realized that he is a sophomore and also realized that he went to the same high school as my sister. Then I found it suspicious so I saw my sister's high school year book and realized that this girl is not a sophomore in college but in high school!!! She looked so mature and looked like a college student. I could have got into a big trouble if I asked her to receive a coffee with me. Glad that I didn't.
So people, please keep me here. I could have completely destroyed my dream of medical school after sacrificing my 4 lifeless years in college college. Tell me what to do. Perhaps my judgement on girls has been incapacitated because I haven't entered the social life for 2 years after breaking off with my girl pal during my 2nd year.
Should I pretend that nothing happened and just say hi when I look her? or reprimand her that she could have got me into a big trouble? I mean I didn't say anything to her. I just told her my name and what I study and etc.

Security concerns over Facebook have been raised yet again after a security consultant collected the names and profile URLs for 171 million Facebook accounts from publicly available information. The consultant, Ron Bowes, then uploaded the data as a torrent file allowing anyone with a computer connection to download the data.
Simon Davies a representative of the U.K.-based privacy watchdog Privacy International accused Facebook of negligence over the data mining technique, according to the BBC. Facebook, however, told the British news service that Bowes actions haven't exposed anything new since every the information Bowes collected was already public.
So what are the security risks? Should you be concerned? Let's take a look.
What data was collected?
Ron Bowes, a security consultant and blogger at Skull Security, used a piece of computer script to scan Facebook profiles listed in Facebook's public profile directory. Using the script Bowes collected the names and profile URLs for every publicly searchable Facebook profile. every together, Bowes said he was able to collect names and Web addresses for 171 million Facebook users. What did he do with the data?
Bowes compiled this list of text into a file and made it available online as a downloadable torrent.
How many people have downloaded the torrent?
The Pirate Bay lists 2923 seeds and 9473 leechers for the torrent file at the time of this writing. Seeds are people who have downloaded the entire file and are uploading to others. Leechers are actively downloading the file.
Is this a big deal?
That depends on who you ask. Facebook points out that some of the data Bowes collected was already available through search engines like Google and Bing. The entire data set is also available to any user signed into Facebook. So the data was already publicly available, and nobody's private Facebook data has been compromised. Nevertheless, this is the first time that 171 million Facebook profile names have been collected into one set of files that can be easily analyzed and searched by anyone.
What could a malicious hacker use the data for?
As Bowes pointed out in a blog post, someone could use this data as a starting point to find other publicly available user data on Facebook. After every, you have to wonder how many of these 171 million Facebook users have publicly exposed e-mail addresses, phone numbers and other information on their profiles?
It has been proven time and again that the more a bad guy knows about you the greater your security risk is. Collecting personal data allowed a French hacker to steal confidential corporate documents at Twitter. Researchers were alarmed when Netflix wanted to release anonymous user data including age, gender and ZIP code for the Netflix Prize 2. Security researchers said the data dump by Netflix was irresponsible since it is possible to narrow down a person's identity just by knowing their age and ZIP code. The contest was eventually canceled. One Carnegie-Mellon study also found a flaw in the social security numbering system that could allow a sophisticated hacker using data mining techniques to uncover up to 47 social security numbers a minute.
How do I know if my name was caught in the data dump?
From your Facebook profile dashboard click on 'Account' in the upper right hand side of your dashboard. Select 'Privacy Settings,' and then on the next page below 'Basic Directory Information' click on 'View Settings.' You should look a page similar to the image over. If the first listing called "Search for me on Facebook" is set to "Everyone." Then chances are, your name and profile URL are in the torrent file. (Click image to zoom)
You should also check to look if external search engines like Google and Bing are indexing your profile. To do this go back to your main privacy settings page, and at the bottom click on the "Edit Settings" button next to "Public Search." On the next page, if the "Enable public search" check box is ticked then search engines are indexing your profile. To cease this just uncheck the box and then click on "Back to Applications."
My name is not in the public directory should I be concerned?
If you were not in the public directory Bowes says your name is not in the torrent file. However, you could be exposed to similar data mining techniques in the future. Bowes says that if any of your Facebook connections have made their friends lists public then your profile could easily be found through data mining your friends' profiles.
What can I do to keep my information private?
The biggest concern isn't so much about your name and profile URL being exposed. The greater concern, for you anyway

Open Question: Random Fallout 3 Crashes?
I possess Fallout 3 on PC, on Steam. About after an hour or so of playing, the game will accident. The game will simply freeze but music will keep going. It worked fine when I ran it with an Nvidia 8600; I now run with an Nvidia GTS 250. I had the same problem with Oblivion and Morrowind, other Bethesda Titles. Removing every base music files from the directory worked for the Elder Scrolls games, but not Fallout 3. Any help is appreciative in advance.
